Structured water, often referred to as or hexagonal water, is a proposed, more organized form of liquid water with a theoretical hexagonal molecular structure, similar to ice, found near hydrophilic surfaces. Proponents claim it is more energetic and easily absorbed by cells, although these claims generally lack strong scientific backing.
What is Structured Water?
- Structure: It is hypothesized that water molecules arrange into hexagons (clusters) that can store energy, unlike regular liquid water where molecules are in constant motion.
- "Fourth Phase" (EZ Water): Researcher Gerald Pollack refers to this as Exclusion Zone (EZ) water or the "fourth phase" of water, which is claimed to exist inside living cells.
- Naturally Found: It is found in nature in glaciers, natural springs, and within fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Vortexing: Using devices that spin water into a vortex creates a flow that proponents believe mimics natural flow and reorganizes molecules.
- Magnetic Devices: Placing magnets around a pipe or using "charging plates" can be used to alter the water's structure.
- Natural Light/Sunlight: Placing water near a window to receive natural light.
- Natural Minerals: Adding mineral-rich, natural salt (like Himalayan salt) is believed to help water hold a structure.
Benefits
- Increased hydration and bioavailability of nutrients.
- Improved energy levels.
- Detoxification.
